The Rolf Method of
Structural Integration

Is Structural Integration Right For You?

Form      Function      Movement

Let’s Be Real
If treating where it hurts fixed the problem, you’d already be pain-free.

Do you feel more like the body on the left or the body on the right?

You shouldn’t have to fight your own body to get through the day.

Structural Integration, sometimes called Rolfing, takes a whole-body approach to how you move, feel, and function.

Rather than focusing only on where you feel discomfort, we look at how your body is organized as a whole. Because everything is connected through fascia, a restriction in one area can influence movement, balance, and comfort somewhere else. Through a series of 10 sessions, we work to improve these relationships and help your body find a more balanced, supported, and efficient way to move.

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and connects everything in your body; your muscles, bones, organs, nerves, and blood vessels.

Think of a grapefruit: the fascia is like the web of white connective tissue that holds the whole fruit together and separates it into sections. The outer layer represents the superficial fascia, while the layers surrounding and connecting each section represent the deeper fascia.

When fascia is healthy, it allows the body to move smoothly and efficiently. When it becomes restricted or disorganized, it can affect how the body moves as a whole.

Q&A

  • Sessions 1-3

    The Foundation

The first three sessions focus on opening and creating space through the body’s outer layers. This prepares the body for deeper work while helping you move with greater freedom and ease.

    Session 3
    Opening
    Support
    Balence

Create space through the upper body and breath, helping you feel more open, lifted, and at ease.

Build a stronger foundation through the feet and legs, helping you feel more grounded, stable, and supported.

Bring greater balance between the front, back, and sides of the body while creating more freedom through the shoulders and arms.

  • Sessions 4-7

    The Spine

The next four sessions focus on the deeper support of the body, with an emphasis on creating movement and connection through the spine. Rather than moving around a rigid or fixed center, the goal is to help your spine become an active part of how you walk, move, and support yourself.

Begin freeing the base of the spine by creating support and connection through the inner legs, adductors, and pelvic floor.

Create space and support along the front of the spine, helping the psoas and core work together.

    Back
    Top

Free and lengthen the back of the spine, creating more space for movement.

Bring the head and neck into relationship with the spine, creating greater ease, balance, and freedom of movement from the top down.

  • Sessions 8-10

    Integration

The next four sessions focus on the deeper support of the body, with an emphasis on creating movement and connection through the spine. Rather than moving around a rigid or fixed center, the goal is to help your spine become an active part of how you walk, move, and support yourself.

    Session 10
    Lower
    Upper
    Whole Body

Connect the lower body and pelvis with the rest of the structure, creating a stable and adaptable foundation for the whole body.

Integrate the upper body with the core, encouraging more coordinated, fluid, and efficient movement.

About Sophia

I studied The Rolf Method of Structural Integration at SI-BMT in California, where I completed the 10-Series training.

Before becoming a Structural Integration practitioner, I was a yoga teacher while also working a desk job. Structural Integration changed my life and completely changed how I think about aches, pains, and the body.

I believe that when something hurts, we should look at the whole person rather than treating them as separate pieces. I love solving the puzzle of each individual person on my table; looking at how everything is connected and helping them find more ease and freedom.

Most importantly, I want my clients to feel empowered and maintain their own autonomy throughout the process.

I'm looking forward to working together!
